What are the opening hours?

We are open Friday and Saturday 12:00 - 13:45 for lunch and Tuesday - Saturday 18:15 - 21:00 for dinner. We are closed on all Mondays and Sundays.

Please note the last order is 1.45pm for lunch and 9:00pm for dinner.


When should I book?

Bookings are taken up to 60 days in advance; the phone lines are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm and from 10am the rest of the week. However, online reservations are active 24 hours a day and seven days a week via the booking page


Will you send a confirmation email?

Yes, once a booking has been made either by phone or online you will receive an automatic confirmation email. Please get in contact if you have not received.


Have you got a cancellation policy?

Yes, we operate a 48-hour cancellation policy for parties up to 6 and a 72-hour cancellation policy for parties of 6 or more. Late cancellation or no shows will incur a fee of £92 per person. Any charges will be taken from the credit/debit card provided at the time of the booking. Please note that the cancellation fee applies to all bookings, even those made within 48h of the time of the reservation.


Can we have less than three courses?

No, unfortunately the 3 course A la Carte menu is the “smallest” menu we offer. Comprised of starter/Main course/Dessert.


Do you have a private dinning room?

We do not have a private dining room as such. However, we can cater for up to 20 people on one single rectangular table. Alternatively, you can book the whole restaurant for a private party/ceremony. Contact Emily for further details


What is the closest tube station to Caractère?

Westbourne Park (circle and Hammersmith and city lines) is the closest tube station to us, we are a 6-minute walk from there. Alternatively, Notting Hill tube station (central, circle and district lines) is a 14 minutes’ walk.


Is there wheelchair access?

Yes, we have a folding metal ramp (72cm in width) which can be placed at the front doors of the property as and when it is required. We also have an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Please kindly let us know when booking if you require wheelchair access in order to make the process as seamless as possible.


Do you do corkage?

We currently do not allow you to bring your own wine.

Do you need to pay a deposit?

No, we do not request a deposit but we do hold credit card details in the event of a late cancellation or no show.


Do you have outdoor dining or a terrace?

No, unfortunately we only have tables inside.

We do however have air-conditioning for those very hot summer days.


Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, we are very flexible and are happy to cater for your dietary requirements. However, we would kindly ask that you give us at least 1 week notice in order to make sure we have everything we need.


Are children allowed in the restaurant?

We do welcome children at Caractère; however, we do not provide high chairs or have any baby changing facilities for very small children.


Is there a children’s menu?

We do not have a specific children’s menu, but if you let us know in advance the chef will be able to prepare something appropriate.


Where can I park ?

We do not have private parking, however both Ledbury road and Westbourne park road hold single yellow lines. There are also 3 pay and display parking bays right across the road and a further 2 on Ledbury road.


Do you allow dogs?

Sorry, no furry friends allowed.
